The Education Foundation has provided programs and special equipment to enhance The Monmouth Beach School's curriculum through our teacher's grant program.

This year, several teachers again applied for the grants, and on February l, the Education Foundation's "Prize Patrol" surprised some of them with their grant requests!

Mrs. Murray was granted graph boards for her math programs so that each student could have their own large erasable board to make it easier to share lessons with their classmates.

Mrs. Santry also received geo boards and communicators for her math program. That grant was underwritten by the Monmouth Beach Business Association.

Mrs. Hall had requested a Native American cultural enrichment program to help bring her lessons on Native American Art to life. The Red Hawk Dance Troupe will come to Monmouth Beach and present a music program and dance demonstration to our students in the spring, and this will be coordinated with the annual student art show.

Another very exciting grant that was fulfilled was Mr. Trager's request. The Foundation is giving the music program 12 guitars! The children and Mr. Trager are very excited about this wonderful addition.

Mr. Frankenfield expressed his appreciation for the Education Foundation and its contributions to our school and put out a plea for new members. Due to members moving out of the community, the Foundation was in danger of folding. Fortunately, we have some wonderful, involved residents in Monmouth Beach and enthusiastic community members ready to answer the call. We have regrouped with a strong base of members and are looking forward to continuing our mission - to enhance the educational experience of our children.
